Vietnam` reports tourism rebound

HANOI  Vietnam National Administration of Tourism estimates the country welcomed 664,985 international travellers in August representing an increase of 7.5% during the same month, last year.
Thailand’s outbound trips to Vietnam slipped off the top 10 list recording 15,066 trips a decrease of 23.3%.
China was the top supply market with 159,010 visits improving 17.6%. Other top performers were South Korea, Japan, the United States and Taiwan.
Neighbouring Cambodia also slipped off the top 10 markets posting 8,714 trips down 70.0%.

inside no 3 All of the country’s top markets are in the Asia/Pacific region with exception of the US (fourth), Russia (seventh), the United Kingdom (ninth), and France (10th).
The bulk of arrivals in August (610,159) passed through the two main aviation gateways Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
However, for January to August this year, the country welcomed 5,063,187 international tourists down 7.5% over the same period last year.
